In this current event I will be telling you about an unusual event. It will be about the world of animals and what effect they have on the world around us. So here we start. These five species of tree-dwelling snakes are probably the worst nightmare for specific people with great fears for snakes. They have the great ability to “fly”, and they do this by flinging themselves from branch to branch. These are as well very dangerous for animals and our society. Jake Socha, a biologist from Virginia Tech, was the most recent person to study and discover this species. In order to do this, Socha and his colleagues designed an experiment that would include this snake. The forced the Chrysopelea Paradisi snake to leap from a branch, on top of a 15 meter high tower. Four unique cameras filmed this event which allowed Socha to establish a 3-D reference and reconstructions of the animal’s body during this specific flight. His current data were recently presented on the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics; this fair took place in Long Beach, CA. After all the data was cleanly looked through, the scientists and biologists concluded a very interesting but puzzling discovery. Firstly, the snake never reached gliding state (one in which the forces generated by their undulating bodies exactly counteract the force pulling the animals down, causing them to move with constant velocity, at a constant angle from the horizon) Nor did the snake simply fall and stumble to the ground. This fact drastically puzzled the scientists and they were startled by this intriguing fact. Later on, Socha stated some key factors that determined the facts and finally put the puzzle together. The snake is basically forced upward, stated Socha, the upward aerodynamic force is heavier than the snake’s weight, which therefore allows the snake to be pushed upward. This factor demonstrates that the snake will be continually pushed upward, but newest research has simplifies that is a short lasting component.

In conclusion, this fact about snakes has been very interesting and I look forward to expressing my love for animals. I really hope I read some more exciting articles.

Reflection

I personally believe that this current event can teach people a lot about society and animals although it is very unique and specific. Here are some aspects in which it can accomplish his goal. Firstly, it demonstrates knowledge of animals and the ways their body work and how they are composed. In this case, reptiles would be more appropriate due to the fact we are talking about a snake. Secondly, it partially shoes you some air components and dynamics which allows people to reflect on their aerodynamic skills. Thirdly, it shows how scientists work these days to establish a “safe landing” or “complete mission”. The newest type of technologies enters the spotlight and different problem solving ways are produced.

After all, this is a great way to enhance our learning. I really found this event interesting and hope to learn some more interesting facts along the way!
